33 days ’til spring!

Shoot Salad Mix:  pea shoots, sunflower shoots and purple daikon radish shoots…..this mix is really popular with customers in Victoria.  And I love them too. Hi everyone!  I’ve been away from the blog for quite a while…and I have so much to write about but it’s really a challenge to make the time to get  [. . .]

Happy Autumnal Equinox!

Happy Autumnal Equinox!

Wow, it’s the first day of fall.   Apple abundance is always a part of this transition time of year in the garden. Pomona, the Roman goddess of fruit trees, gardens and orchards hangs out around here,  I’m sure I feel her presence.  I read somewhere that the pruning knife was her sacred tool! This  [. . .]

stargazers

The stargazer lilies have been blooming again this August and they are, as usual, stunning!!  Stargazer lilies are the look-after-themselves perennial treat of the late summer garden just like peonies are the look-after-themselves perennial treat of the early summer garden.  After I plant them, I don’t have to do anything….they just come up on their  [. . .]

About the Garden

Christina’s Garden is a small market garden on Mayne Island, one of the Southern Gulf Islands located in the Salish Sea between Vancouver and Victoria, BC, Canada.

We put love and care into producing a variety of delicious and nutritious shoots and microgreens for year round sales to Mayne Islanders and folks in Victoria and on the mainland. We also offer a variety of home grown vegetables, seasonal flower bouquets and bedding plants for home gardens at our roadside stand and the Saturday Market on Mayne Island.
